College Admission Predictor
Estimate your chances of securing a seat in Assam’s Degree Colleges (BA/BSc/BCom) based on SAMARTH portal cut-off trends.
How Does the Merit List Predictor Work?
With the introduction of the Assam State Higher Education Admission Portal (SAMARTH), the admission process for BA, BSc, and BCom courses has become highly competitive and centralized. Our Merit List Predictor uses historical cut-off data from previous academic sessions to give you a realistic estimate of your admission chances.

Understanding College Tiers in Assam
Cut-off percentages vary wildly depending on the demand and reputation of the institution you are applying to. We have categorized colleges into three tiers for better prediction:
- Tier 1 (Top State Colleges): Institutions like Cotton University, B. Borooah College, Handique Girls’ College, and JB College. These require exceptionally high marks, often closing above 85% for General Science/Arts students.
- Tier 2 (Standard District Colleges): Major degree colleges in district headquarters. The competition is moderate, usually requiring 65% to 75% for the first merit list.
- Tier 3 (Local Degree Colleges): Suburban and rural colleges where admission is generally accessible to students scoring above the passing threshold (45%+).
SAMARTH Portal Category Reservations
The Assam Government follows a strict roster system for seat allotment. General category seats are unreserved (open to all based purely on merit). Separate merit lists are published with relaxed cut-offs for OBC/MOBC (15%), SC (7%), ST-Plains (10%), and ST-Hills (5%) candidates.
