The Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC) follows specific rules for calculating the final marks of Class 12 students in the Arts, Science, and Commerce streams. Because students choose a mix of mandatory and optional subjects, finding your exact board percentage can be confusing. Our dual-mode calculator solves this problem instantly!

Subject-Wise & “Best of 5” Rule Explained

In Assam HS 2nd Year, a student typically appears for 5 or 6 subjects. The final aggregate is calculated out of a maximum of 500 Marks.

  • If you have 5 subjects: Simply enter the marks for all 5 subjects. The calculator will sum them up out of 500.
  • If you have 6 subjects (including a 4th Elective): The AHSEC generally applies the “Best of 5” rule. Our calculator will automatically identify your highest 5 scoring subjects, drop the lowest one, and calculate your exact percentage out of 500.

Direct Total Marks Method

Already know your grand total from your mark sheet? Use the “Direct Total Marks” toggle at the top of the calculator. Just enter your aggregate score (e.g., 385), select if it’s out of 500 or 600, and generate your final result instantly.

AHSEC Class 12 Division System

Based on your calculated percentage out of 500, the system categorizes your division as follows:

  • 1st Division: Securing 60% or above (300 Marks or more).
  • 2nd Division: Securing 45% to 59.9% (225 to 299 Marks).
  • 3rd Division: Securing 30% to 44.9% (150 to 224 Marks).
  • Fail: Below 30% aggregate or failing compulsory papers.
