The Director of Tea Tribe Welfare Department, Assam, has started the Simon Singh Horo Scholarship Registration Process for the session 2022-23. Assam students belonging to the tea tribe community can apply for this year’s “Simon Sing Horo Special Scholarship (Post Matric Scholarship). Objective
Simon Singh Horo is a scholarship scheme launched by the Tea Tribal Welfare Department for students from Assam belonging to tea tribe community. Under the Simon Singh Horo Scholarship Scheme, a total of Rs.10,000/- per student is provided to students belonging to tea tribe community of Assam who have passed HSLC/HSSLC under the Equivalent Education Council recognized by Assam (Seba)/Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC) or Government of Assam.
Eligibility Criteria of Simon Singh Horo Scholarship 2022-23
The Eligibility criteria for the Simon Singh Horo scholarship for Tea tribe Students are given below:-
- Must be a permanent resident of Assam.
- Having TGL/Ex-TGL Caste Certificate.
- Having functional bank accounts.
- Applicant providing admission receipts proving continuation of his/her further education
- All children of the same parent/guardians can apply
Documents to be Submitted
- Original copy of Birth Certificate/ HSLC Admit/ HSLC Pass Certificate
- Original copy of the HSLC/ HSSLC marksheet
- Original copy of caste certificate
- First page of applicant’s bank passbook

This Simon Singh Horo Scholarship is generally announced every year during the month of September and its deadline falls in the month of February. This application period is tentative. It varies from year-to-year. The 2022-23 Simon Singh Horo scholarship date has not been announced yet.

Selection Process of Simon Singh Horo Special Post Matric Scholarship
The students shall apply for the scholarship through our online portal in the link given below:
- The applications shall be verified by the respective SDWOs.
- After scrutiny, the list of eligible students is forwarded to the Director of Tea Tribes Welfare, Assam by respective SDWOs. In case of any doubt, the candidates may also be called for physical verification.
- The Director examines and consolidates the lists submitted by all SDWOs and places it before the Chairman, State Level Advisory Committee (SLAC) for approval.
- In case an applicant’s document is found doubtful, the Director exercises the right to return the list to the concerned SDWOs for re-verification.
